Custom Lifts
My friend works in the restaurant business and recently she was responsible for designing a new restaurant space in the centre of Manchester. The problem with the restaurant space was that it was on the top floor of a very tall building but this did not faze my friend in the slightest. As she said, she could get Custom Lifts built so that customers could enter from the street and ride the Custom Lifts straight to the restaurants. I must admit that I think she has some excellent ideas. If I would have been in her position and somebody had told me to design that restaurant space, once I realised that it was so far away from the ground floor I think I would have given up. I certainly would not have had the vision to think of installing Custom Lifts. As well as the entrance arrangements she has come uup with some marvellous ideas for the inside space and the plans look absolutely spectacular. The project is still in the building stages but it is due to open in the next two months with a lot of publicity attached to it. This is when I am really pleased to have a restaurant designer as a friend as I get to attend the most fantastic parties.

Tread Covers
My father works for a large construction company and lately he has been fitting platforms in a steel structure on one of the jobs and he has been asked to find Tread Covers for the platforms so that people do not slip as they are walking on them. I was surprised that he had to order Tread Covers separately as I would have thought that platforms would come complete with Tread Covers so tthat people would not slip. However, he told me that if you want to be really sure that people do not slip during the day when walking on the platforms that this is the sort of thing you really need to take into account. I am really pleased that my father takes his job so seriously and all his colleagues know that he can always be relied upon. I think this is why he has lasted so long in a notoriously fickle business which is prone to the vagaries of the financial markets. In thirty years of work my father has never been laid off. Instead, sometimes he has to turn work down, he is asked to go on so many contracts. Although he is due for retirement soon, I wonder how he will manage without working as he is a real workaholic and absolutely loves all his time at work.

Ipaf Training
People that embark on International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training courses are taught how to use scissor lifts, cherry pickers and other kinds of powered access equipment in a safe and sensible manner. Comprehensive Ipaf Training is carried out at dedicated training centres or it can also be conducted at a site of the customer`s choosing just as long as equipment is available that meets with set standards. Specific Ipaf Training courses can be completed by operators who will use access equipment whilst out on site. Typically these courses are completed over the space of one-day and they will contain theory and practical elements. Hire firms that provide access equipment for clients have to ensure their employees attend Ipaf Training courses. Equipment of this nature can be dangerous in the wrong hands and detailed training needs to be completed in the correct usage of the machinery. With a high level of training an operator can become well-versed in the usage of this kind of access equipment and they`ll be able to use it in the correct manner whilst out on site. Once the training is completed operators are issued with a powered access licence which proves they are competent enough to use machinery of this nature.
